THE JULEPS

The name Julep comes from the Arabic word ‘Julab’ meaning rosewater, and is possibly considered the ultimate deep south cocktail. Harry’s offering takes you through its rise to cocktail super stardom, from its conception to its eventual evolution.

The Peach Julep

'One of the most delightful and insinuating potations that was ever invented'.
Novelist and Captain, Frederick Marryat, brought this recipe back from
travelling the Americas in 1837 and it is with good reason they are still on the
pages of cocktail menus today. Peach brandy, cognac, sugar and mint, churned
with mint sprig and pineapple stick.
   

 

The Mint Julep

Buffalo Trace Kentucky Burbon, infused with mint and churned with ice,
sweetened to taste and finished with aromatic bitters. During a libel case
Teddy Roosevelt claimed to only have drunk 'but a portion' of his mint
julep, unfortunately everyone knows this would never happen.
   

 

Black Forest Julep

The Mojito

Josephine

Named after Napoleon's wife, this martini has more body and is slightly
sweeter. It uses Noilly Prat and Sauternes to make a dangerously drinkable
Martini. Created at Harry's, this drink was awarded 2nd place in a national
competition by Peter Dorelli himself! Stolichnaya Vodka, Noilly Prat,
Sauternes with a twist.
   

 

Sazerac

200 Years ago! Apothecary Antoine Amadie Peychaud moved from the
West Indies to New Orleans and with the mix of his remedies, bohemian
culture and bartenders, this drink is one of the oldest and greatest was born.
Rye Bourbon or Cognac stirred with sugar bitters and ice, but finished with
an Absinthe rinse and cracked lemon peel, it is pretty special.
   

 

Manhattan
